The trade spat between the U.S. and China is escalating, with the Trump administration now looking to quadruple the value of Chinese products affected by American tariffs.   Last week, we wrote about the U.S. beginning to collect tariffs on more than 800 items imported from China. China quickly countered by imposing increased duties on products it imports from the U.S. On July 10, the Trump administration responded. Recently we get a complain by an importer stating that the Customs Department of Cambodia came out with a new policy that is to hold the imported container if it is food related products until the products are tested and declared safe. They will take some food samples , send to their lab for inspections and a Health Cert will be issued if the food samples are tested safe for consumption. This process might take up to 2 to 4 weeks resulting additional storage fees and other charges.
